WideTEK 25 Backlight Unit for Specialty Scans
Scan X-Rays, Film, Glass Photo Negatives and more
For digitizing transparent material of all kinds, like X-rays, glass negatives, 35mm microfilm aperture cards, cutout stencils, sepias and film; an optional backlight unit has been developed for the WideTEK 25-600 flatbed scanner. The backlight unit is integrated in the scanner lid and can be easily installed by the user.
The optional backlight unit replaces the standard scanner lid. It is easily assembled and users can scan with or without the backlight, depending on the source material requirements, by simply switching the light on or off. It can scan both reflective originals as well as transparent material in the same resolution of up to 1200 dpi optical and using 3D surface scanning techniques if desired.
There are many film scanners available on the market for small image formats and even medium sized images, but in the large format range, film scanners are very rare and/or prohibitively expensive. Adding this option enables operators to scan medium format and large format films and glass negatives of up to 635 x 470 mm (18.5 x 25 inches) in less than 6 seconds at 600 dpi.
The WideTEK 25-600 is unbeaten in terms of speed and image quality. Priced at less than 800 Euros (less than $1000), the backlight unit is an inexpensive enhancement to the WideTEK 25-600 and makes this powerful production scanner even more versatile in the applications. See the WideTEK 25-600 in detail on our homepage.
