Image Access will present its new art scanner, the WideTEK® 36ART, for the first time at the 8th biannual EXPONATEC in hall 3.2, booth E064 to an audience of artists and other specialists from the fine art field. From November 22 to 24 2017, the museum world in the cultural city of Cologne will have the opportunity to see the new large format scanner, which has been specially developed for the digitization of artwork.
With this scanner, each museum is able to digitally archive its own art collection, to publish it in print and online media, or to offer it as a high quality art reproduction. Together with modern electronic presentation platforms, the museums can offer a variety of ways to present the works of art to the public. Art which can rarely be shown in the exhibition rooms because of its fragility or for reasons of space can now be made available in electronic catalogs. If the professional digitization of paintings has been very time-consuming in the past, the WideTEK 36ART will make this simple, fast and cost-effective.
The WideTEK 36ART is remarkable for fine art scanning due to its 3D scanning mode. With this scanning process, the digital images have a particularly realistic, textured effect. This three-dimensional impression is also reproduced, so that these prints can not be distinguished from the original at first glance. A new dimension for reprography! In combination with large format printers, the art scanner is the perfect basis for professional art reproduction with the highest color accuracy.
The WideTEK 36ART digitizes works of art such as oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, charcoal and pastel drawings, collages or antique works completely contact free. Even paintings which are still wet can be digitized. The scanner captures formats of up to 914 x 1524 mm in high resolution, in brilliant and true colors while ensuring the original is completely unharmed due to gentle handling.
EXPONATEC, the leading communication platform for the museum, conservation and restoration industry, combines culture and industry in dialogue with the aim of protecting cultural heritage and preserving it for future generations. The number of ca. 4,000 trade visitors from 40 countries and 197 exhibitors from 21 countries of the last EXPONATEC is expected to be topped this year.
